When installing the insert in
the block, I left approximately .020 inches above the top of block
to hide the line where the insert wall met the trem block wall.
I carefully pened the edge of the repair insert and here began the
process of milling the additional material flush with the top of
the block. The dial indicator and plate gauge allowed me to check
the relationship between the insert and the block while avoiding
cutting into the block even the slightest bit.
When the milling was complete, approximately .0005" remained
above the original top surface of the block. |
